Missoma and Le Specs sunglasses put us in a jewel state of mind
Missoma and Le Specs have collaborated on a 22-piece jewelry eyewear collection
Eyewear is steeped in jewelry codes in the new collaboration between British jewelry company Missoma and Australian eyewear brand Le Specs, who have come together on a range of sunglasses inspired by the 1970s and 1990s.
“After the success of our sunglasses chains in Spring/Summer 2021, it made sense to bring our ‘jewellery’ to sunglasses,” says the jewelry brand. “We were also inspired to collaborate after seeing our clients – and celebrities such as Gigi Hadid – wear Missoma and Le Specs pieces together. It was a truly perfect partnership because we are reaching out to the same audience and so many members of our own team carry Le Specs and vice versa.
The 22-piece collection features classic shapes such as cat-eye and D-frames, with jeweled accents – including pearl and malachite details and gold chains – infusing essential sunglasses with a twist. of glamour.
“With us based in London and Le Specs in Sydney, we had to deal with jet lag and lots of late night (and early morning) Zoom calls to create our collaboration,” the Missoma team said of the creative process. “We love the global element of this partnership, and we know people around the world are going to love what we’ve done together.” We really bonded during the design process and we just can’t wait for the day when we can meet in person to celebrate together over a bottle of wine.
This collaboration is the latest step for Missoma, which has also branched out into accessories and homewares. “We like to do the unexpected and never stand still. Our creative director, Marisa Hordern, is always thinking of new ideas, collaborations and how to work with different genres. There are always new projects in the pipeline which we hope , will surprise and delight.
